About Vendor

"GIGMASTERS BEST OF 2015" My solo act is comprised of myself playing guitar (Acoustic & Electric), harmonica and singing with pre-recorded band and backup vocal tracks. Of course, my act is a lot more affordable than a band, but sounds like the real thing. I am an accomplished polished singer and guitar player with over 45 years of experience. My act appeals to a wide variety of audiences. I perform Island Paradise Music, Classic Rock, Southern Rock, New and Old Country , 50's & 60's, Old and New Blues, Easy Listening Dinner / Wedding Standards, R&B and Dance Tunes. I can play as soft, pretty and mellow as you like or kick it up a notch or two depending on the audience. Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you so we can discuss pricing, availability and which of my versatile styles best suits the particular tastes of your clientele or event. BIOGRAPHY JAMES BLAIN Vocals / Guitar / Harmonica James started playing and singing at the age of 8, and after graduating college he toured the country as a solo one-man act, playing venues from Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, and Nashville to Las Vegas, Reno and Lake Tahoe. In 1980 he was inducted into the Guinness Book of World Records as the “World's Greatest One-Man Band.” After moving to Northern California in 1981, he played in a number of bands all over the Bay Area as the lead singer and guitar player. He has opened for numerous recording artists in medium- and large-size venues including: Jerry Garcia, BB King, Genesis, Commander Cody, Taj Mahal, Johnathan Edwards, Richie Havens to name a few. James' wide dynamic vocal range can shift from smooth angelic to the classic raspy sound. He is also an accomplished guitarist with a wide range of styles.
