About VendorÂ

Who Are We. TheDecadesBand with Austin's own Diane Tropea on lead vocals and Don Hubbard on lead & rhythm guitar, and guitar synth, and other performers as needed. We provide lively multi decade, multi genre cover songs from the 1940's through current. Because we're multi decade and multi genre we can adapt our music to match your events theme. And though we often perform as a duo with a larger band sound to keep your costs low, we can also add members as needed. Primary Band Members Diane Tropea & Don Hubbard have been performing as a duo band all around Austin as TheDecadesBand. They have performed over 500 gigs since 2016. On occasion they also perform as a Trio with an added sax player. Diane Tropea has been singing since early childhood, did some LA touring in her college years, and now lives and works in the Hill Country north of Austin. Her vocals are superb and one of those must hear to believe voices. Diane also performs regularly with the 18-piece Big Brass Band (Not Past 11) out of Georgetown Texas. Don Hubbard is retired Navy and also worked for the State of Texas for 15-years. In addition to playing regular guitar he plays a guitar-synth which provides additional lead instruments like Flute, Clarinet, Trombone, Vibes, Organ, Trumpet, Accordion for a richer big band sound. Even the duo band sounds more like a 4-5 piece band. Trio Band Members Paul Klemperer on Sax and backup vocals is one of our favorite sit in musicians. He is an accomplished Sax and Clarinet musician and has performed all over the US. Paul also teaches music in Austin and is deeply involved in creative music grant projects and collaborative efforts. You can hear Paul's sound among the Jazz sample videos on this site. Another regular favorite we collaborate with is Frank Demar on Sax who also performs with the Georgetown big band Not Past 11. Experience We recently completed our 500th performance providing our unique mix of music genres and decades for corporate events, weddings, anniversaries, festivals, benefits, and dance parties. Our music might be cocktail / dinner hour background music one minute and quickly change to lively raise-the-roof dance music the next. We are among the most flexible small bands when it comes to adapting our music to your event and sounding much larger than we are. Verifiable Bookings & Our Reputation Beyond The Bash Clients: If you would like to check our reputation with others, we will be happy to put you in touch with some GM's and Owners of venues where we perform regularly. Better yet, plan an outing and catch us live before deciding. Our performance calendar appears among the photos on this site. How we describe our sound? If you walked into a venue where we are performing as a duo band, you would likely think we are a larger 4-5 piece band. We have carefully created a sound that is much richer and larger than a typical duo or trio band. Performing as a duo keeps your band costs down. If you need a trio we have that too. Our quotes will generally state (2) performers but we are always happy to update our quote for a Trio. We encourage you to take a careful listen to our sample music on this site and attached to our quotes. PLEASE BOOK EARLY TO LOCK IN YOUR EVENT DATE ON OUR CALENDAR.
