Born to moderately normal parents in middle Georgia, Craig was raised on country and cane syrup. However, Craig's life was rocked at a young age when his maternal grandfather introduced him to the guitar and bluegrass music. After years of songwriting and playing yo-yo with the guitar,harmonica, and various other instruments and music genres (none of which he had mastered) Craig met Frank Wingerter and begin, once again, to play bluegrass and bluegrass gospel. The final revelation struck after marrying DeeDee Cooper, a woman who was so twisted that she encouraged a reemergence and honing of Craig's artistic ability. In addition, DeeDee's daughter became a very blatantly truthful critic and support(honesty hurts sometimes)..and her sons offered a thankful shout of encouragement. After years of playing in church (and loving it), for friends, family, and some festivals, Craig began to enter singer songwriter contests while composing and compiling his own songs (and a few covers) for a deeper venture into the music world. In 2012, Craig's song I Will(I Do) made it to the semifinals of the Augusta Chronicle/Amped contest. Since then Craig has been seen at numerous events in Middle Georgia, playing at churches, Farmer's Markets, and Festivals. He has been a contestant two years running, and was the winner of local Texaco Country Showdown in 2013, as well as monthly songwriter winner and in the top five on three other months. He writes many originals and continues to enter local and national contests. Craig is known to spark the crowd with his original songs, country, bluegrass and southern gospel, as well as many classic songs from the 70's up through the current year. Craig's wonderful kids Lauren and Matt acted as early critics and support and even doubled as independant roadies...(they didn't get paid, but occasionally fed). In addition, Lauren and Matt have markletly increased early audiences and congregations(they got fed better when they clapped and sang along). My thanks to Lauren for often being my biggest fan early on and Matt for not beating his head against the wall when I sang bluegrass.
