Cactus Country was established over 25 years ago, and through the years has matured into one of the most requested bands for weddings, anniversaries, conventions, corporate events & festivals. They feature a 9 time Texas Fiddle Champion Regina who amazes audiences everywhere and is an electric showman. As the new HEB commercial for Creamy Creations, fiddlers (not guitar players) are the true rock stars in Texas! Cactus Country is diverse and performs country & variety music including classic country, Texas Artists and todays hits, as well as classic rock, oldies, and even some Latin Hits. Their versatility can satisfy a wide range of audiences. Their resume includes over 1200 weddings in their career. We can travel up to 500 miles. Featured in Cactus Country is one of the finest female vocalists around, Brenda Dlugosh and 2 male vocalists. With three vocalists, their songs include the harmonies so popular in music today. One male vocalist spent 5 years entertaining on Carnival Cruise lines. Our fiddling sensation Regina Matthews has won many Texas Fiddle Championships in her career, and has even performed at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. In addition to public events and festivals, they also perform a large number of private events, and a large number of corporate events. Many of these events are for weddings, corporate events and conventions. They have even performed on the Main-stage at the Texas State Fair in Dallas & Billy Bob's Texas in both 2013 and 2014. They returned to the State Fair of Texas in 2015. Champion Fiddler Regina Matthews is a huge fan favorite at festivals with her outstanding fiddle techniques and her great stage presence. Cactus Country feature her talents on several Charlie Daniels hits and classic fiddlng songs. Over the years Cactus Country has been featured with many Nashville stars, including Kevin Fowler, Steve Wariner, Restless Heart, John Conlee, Clint Black, Gary Allan, Jana Kramer, Wade Bowan, Tracy Byrd, Johnny Lee, Rex Allen Jr., Charlie Daniels, Tracy Lawrence, Rick Trevino, Aaron Tippin, Doug Supernaw, Perfect Stranger, Paulette Carlson, Sylvia, Moe Bandy, Chris LeDoux, LeeRoy Parnell & even the Dixie Chicks (before they were famous!). Over their career they have been finalists in the Marlboro Country Music Talent Roundup and the Miller Battle of the Bands. In 2000, they won the local stage of the Colgate Country Music Showdown & later placed 2nd in the State. Since that contest, the Nashville office of the Showdown for 15 years regularly books the group every year to be the back-up band for state finalist contests throughout Texas.
