Karen Burciaga Violinist from Medford, MA

Karen Burciaga is a versatile violinist and fiddler based north of Boston. She performs classical music, pop songs, Celtic tunes and movie themes in many different settings including concert halls, churches, historic homes and colonial taverns. Karen often plays with cello, classical guitar, harp, or bagpipes but is always available for solo engagements. A classically trained musician with a Master of Music degree, Karen has also explored various folk fiddle traditions and has studied Renaissance and Baroque music extensively. She plays with Seven Times Salt, an early music ensemble dedicated to music of the 16th-17th centuries. Her Celtic band, Ulster Landing, presents folk music of Ireland, Scotland, Brittany and Cornwall on fiddle, harp, Uilleann (Irish) pipes and bouzouki. For seven years she was the fiddler for Newpoli, an award-winning Southern Italian folk band. In addition, her knowledge of classical violin repertoire gives her a wide variety of music to select from. Karen is happy to work with clients to find just the right music for each and every occasion.
