Justin Spenner- Baritone Classical Singer from Minneapolis, MN

Justin Spenner, baritone, received his Masters of Music from the University of Minnesota under the tutelage of Philip Zawisza. With the U of M Opera Theater he has performed the role of Demetrius (A Midsummer Night's Dream), and covered the role of Ford (Falstaff).He also holds a Bachelors of Music from the University of Stevens Point where he studied with Dennis Willhoit and performed the roles of Papageno (Die Zauberfl?te), and Marco (Gianni Schicchi) with their opera theater. In 2012, he was a Studio Artist for the inaugural season of the Mill City Summer Opera, and returned to the company as a Studio and Cover artist (Fiorello/Ambrogio) for their 2013 production of Il Barbiere di Siviglia, and again in 2014 as a Teaching Artist and to cover the role of Sciarrone in Tosca. Justin has been contracted six times with the Minnesota Opera Chorus including performances of Dominick Argento's Dream of Valentino- which completed the company's cycle of the composers works. An active recitalist, Justin has presented concerts of Dichterliebe, Die Winterreise, and The Songs and Dances of Death across the Twin Cities and Central Wisconsin. In addition to singing Justin studies composition with the esteemed composer James Dillon, actively wishes he had a dog, and enjoys getting lost in Cormac McCarthy novels.
