American harpist Betsy Fitzgerald has entertained audiences around the world for over twenty years in solo, chamber music, and orchestra concerts. In addition, she has performed at elite special events ranging from intimate weddings on Sea Island, GA to gala dinners in Tokyo, Japan. With a vast repertoire ranging from traditional classical and Celtic favorites to jazz standards and today's love songs, she will add the perfect touch to your special event. Betsy is available for concerts and special events in Macon, GA and throughout the southeast. Biography: Betsy Fitzgerald is a highly sought-after harpist and pianist specializing in solo and chamber music performances as well as special outreach and school music programs.  She has performed with orchestras in the US, South Korea and Japan and has appeared as a soloist with orchestras including the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra, the Kunitachi Symphony Orchestra (Japan), Seoul String Orchestra (S. Korea), Sinfonia Gulf Coast (Destin, Florida) and the Chamber Orchestra of Eastman (Rochester, New York).  One of her specialties is performing with studio orchestras and her favorite performances include working with Audra McDonald, Natalie Cole, Doc Severinsen, Steve Vai and Paige O'Hara.  In 1998 she began her first contract with Walt Disney World Entertainment, performing for thousands of guests at the Walt Disney World Resorts as a member of the Disney Grammy Orchestra.   Today, she continues to return to Walt Disney World to perform in special performances with the Disney Encore Orchestra at EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. Betsy is the Principal Harpist of the Encore Cast Choir and Orchestra at Walt Disney World and Professor of Harp at Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. She previously was the Principal Harpist of Sinfonia Gulf Coast in Destin, FL. She can be heard performing locally with arts organizations such as Griffin Choral Arts, the Macon Symphony Orchestra and Symphony Orchestra Augusta and with numerous church music organizations including Mulberry United Methodist Church, Perry Presbyterian Church, and Christ Church (St. Simons Island). Betsy recently performed in a harp duo concert tour with her sister, Marguerite Lynn Williams, and was invited to perform at the 2011 World Harp Congress in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Betsy has considerable experience performing at special events including weddings, military events, cocktail parties, receptions, and corporate parties.  Her repertoire is quite vast from classical and Celtic music to Broadway and jazz standards.  She enjoys working closely with clients to select the best music for their special occasion.  This is particularly important for weddings, where she assists brides and grooms in their selection of the perfect music for their special day. An Atlanta native, Ms. Fitzgerald lives in Macon, GA.   She earned a Bachelor of Music in Harp Performance from the Eastman School of Music, one of the nation's top music conservatories, and studied harp performance at the graduate level at the University of Cincinnati's College-Conservatory of Music.  She also holds a Masters Degree in Arts Administration from Goucher College (Towson, MD). She is available for performances throughout Georgia and the Southeast including Atlanta, Macon, Savannah, St. Simons Island, Hilton Head and Destin.
