AWARD-WINNING VIRTUOSO GUITARIST, COMPOSER, & SINGER/SONGWRITER Hailed by NBC News for making "…the guitar sing like it was invented only to be in his hands," native Oregonian Tye Austin is dedicated to making classical and jazz guitar music more accessible to all generations. Currently based in Los Angeles, Tye is available for any event located on the Pacific Coast and greater US. He plays a wide range of musical genres from classical to jazz, flamenco, bossa nova, samba, tango, salsa, choro, and more. He also sings in five languages. In addition to his solo guitar work, he also performs chamber music with a violinist, cellist, harpist, pianist, jazz trio, and/or string quartet. Tye has performed solo at NYC’s Carnegie Hall, London's Royal Albert Hall, Shanghai’s Lidoway, the United Nations Headquarters, US French Embassy, and many other prestigious venues around the world. He has been interviewed by NBC News, National Public Radio, The Boston Guardian, and Psychology Today. Tye received his master of music degree in classical guitar performance under the tutelage of Eliot Fisk at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. He furthered his guitar studies with Sharon Isbin at The Juilliard School in NYC. He also studied flamenco guitar technique with David Martinez at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Granada, Spain.
