I am a solo classical guitarist based in Chicago. I've been performing professionally since 2004 for all sort of events, parties and get-togethers: private dinner/cocktail parties, banquets, corporate receptions, gallery openings, memorial services, weddings, and increasingly, concert performances. At the core of what I do, I perform a unique repertoire of classical, popular and folkloric music of Latin America (Brazil, Argentina, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, etc.), stemming from a longtime apprenticeship with a master guitarist from Chile. I can play sets of "high energy" music for cocktail parties, as well as more "mellow" sounds for background music for dinner. I consider myself to be a very empathetic musician as a background music artist, playing to the energy of the room. I love playing for weddings, and I'm equally comfortable performing traditional wedding music as I am more non-traditional choices - including learning any requests you might have for ceremony music. For events and parties, I'm happy doing 50-minute sets with 10 minute breaks. Three sets is common, four is no problem! My ethos is always to "play to the event, not the clock".
