Ugly Rumor is a high-energy diverse Rock and Roll Cover Band consisting of experienced musicians from all walks of life who have experienced all types of performance venues and musical styles. With more than 100 combined years of musical experience, each band member has developed their craft with a multitude of musicians and honed their skills around good old American rock & roll that cooks. We feature tunes from all the classic decades including rock, R&B, Motown, Latin and country. We also have a wonderful cocktail hour assortment for cocktail hours and dinners prior to the dancing, In addition to plain just having fun, we are available for weddings, private parties, community events, jailbreaks, interventions and any other event you might be hosting. We specialize in tailoring to your needs so that once you select us, we take care of everything. Want a cocktail hour? Done. Want to add some tunes for your personal library? Done. Want to focus on a particular genre or decade? Done. We can and do accommodate any situation. We have all the equipment, canopies, lighting and our own sound tech to make sure everything goes perfect. We will make sure the entertainment is covered so you can focus on the rest of your event. Rob Knorr (Guitar and Vocals) Rob (Chicago, IL) is the founder of Ugly Rumor and has been playing guitar for 40+ years. He has played in various bands (High Noon Saloon, the Rejects) with major influences from early rock & roll such as Chuck Berry to the melodic solos of Terry Kath of Chicago to the hard driving rock of Alvin Lee. Tim Murphy (Lead Vocals) Tim (Detroit, MI) has been singing since birth. Tim has extensive formal vocal training in classical and a capella styles. He has been with the band since 2006. A baritone with a wide range allows for versatility, as he belts out classic Mick Jagger (he's even got the moves), Jim Morrison, Van Morrison, and newer classics like the Red Hot Chilly Peppers Wayne Lajoie (Keyboards and Vocals) Wayne's great keyboard work delivers melody and sounds across the entire spectrum of rock. From piano and beefy organs to classic synths. He has performed in bands from Los Angeles, Chicago and South Florida. Colorado is his favorite home and has been in the band since back in 2013. Alane Langley (Vocals) As a trained vocalist, Alane allows Ugly Rumor to expand our musical offerings to places we only dreamed about. When not on stage, Alane is a mom and a completely badass Crossfitter (#145 in the world in her age demographic!). Just close your eyes and you would swear that you hear Tina Turner and Grace Slick... Rob Roy (Bass and Vocals) Rob is our newest member of the band. Originally a keyboard player performing in SoCal, Rob moved to CO in late 80s, picked up the bass to play Rush tunes with his roommate and took off from there. He joined the 10-piece funk R&B band “SilverJeff” and played all around Denver from Herman’s Hideaway to the People’s Fair. Ken Bailey (Junior) (Drums) Ken is one of the oldest members of the band. He's played with other Denver area bands and returned to Ugly Rumor in 2020. Ken has a steady hand and lays down a solid beat that drives the rhythm of Ugly Rumor. Lucky Parker (Saxophones and Percussion) Hailing from the west coast on saxophone is David 'Lucky' Gonzales. Here in Colorado for a decade now and fully immersed in the live music scene, lucky plays with funk and groove in every note. Match this up with the super group 'Ugly Rumor' and get ready to party! Mike Dare (Sound Engineer). Let's be clear...as a band we ROCK. However, we only sound as good as our Sound Engineer enables us. To that end, we never play a gig without a full-time sound man, and that is Mike.
