We are The Bash's #1-rated quartet in the greater Baltimore/Washington area - rated as such monthly, now for 118 months in a row! And The Bash selected us as the winner this year of their annual "National Award" in their string quartet category. (That now makes 6 years in a row.) Thanks to one and all for the great reviews! Experience, talent, commitment, the personal touch - from Nancy and David Shavin. Violin/violin duet, violin/viola duet, string trio (violin/viola/cello) or string quartet (two violins/viola/cello) - we bring to each job decades of experience. Classical, light classical, and popular - you name it, we'll get it done. A bit of background: The Leesburg String Quartet has put on the special commemoration concert at the DAR Convention, and, for the last three years, quartet concerts for royalty. We continue to play at many fascinating local venues in Virginia, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Also, for several years, we've been giving benefit public chamber music concerts here in Leesburg, donating our services. Individually, we've literally decades of experience in various orchestras, including in Atlanta, Washington, DC, and New York. We've played at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, Kennedy Center, Constitution Hall and Wolf Trap. And, though this may only impress some of the older set out there (and perhaps scare some of the younger set!), we've performed with the likes of Vicki Carr, Wayne Newton, Bob Hope and Michael Jackson. Yet, string quartets remain our passion.

Stephan, Thanks so much. Your choice of venue, with that historic old church, was a bit of inspiration for us. Indeed, some of your choices take a bit of research to find an acceptable 2-voice arrangement, But I must add that there was nothing new about the "Ode to Joy" theme. We've played it, and loved it, for many years. It was just a matter of locating a decent 2-voice version of it. I'm glad our love for Schiller's poem and Beethoven's setting came through! You are certainly welcome at our quartet concerts, and I'll remember to get the January announcement to you. All the best to you two, David and NancyReview by Chadwick R.
