Cormorant's Fancy voted in top 20 Celtic bands of 2017, international Irish and Celtic Music Podcast! Venues and reviewers call Cormorant's Fancy "spellbinding," "with a knack for gorgeous arrangements." From tenderly passionate love songs to growling soul-rousers, and from captivating a cappella to swirling instrumentals, the band propels audiences into the living Celtic tradition. Our compelling cross-generational lineup unites past, present, and future, so that when we stir the crowd from the festival stage, grace a wedding, lead the pub in song, accompanying dancers, present at school, or fascinate with a keynote, our brazenly trad music rings true. We've been called the “most energetic” Celtic band, yet we do it with finesse! We play Harrisburg, Gettysburg, York, Lancaster, Baltimore, Washington, Pittsburgh, NY, VA, WV, OH, and more, festivals to fairs, weddings to workshops, parlors to pubs, schools to retirement villages, eateries to estates, museums to jams, corporate events to keynotes, worship to wakes. We absolutely love the depth and breadth of Irish, Scottish, and all Celtic traditional music! We constantly search for the very best songs and tunes, the music we know you will love! Only the rare band matches our vocal capabilities or spirited and nuanced playing! Every member of Cormorant's Fancy is a singer and a multi-instrumentalist! Each brings creativity that gives us "a knack for gorgeous arrangements." We're much more than just the typical Irish band. What will you find at a Cormorant's Fancy show? You'll enjoy lots of clapping, toe-tapping and singing along. You'll laugh out loud, and perhaps feel a tear in your eye. You won't be surprised at spontaneous dancing in open spaces. You'll feel the audience hang on every word of an unaccompanied ballad and hear them cheer for a rousing anthem. You'll smile at children and the young-at-heart join the band as guest percussionists You'll see Meg transformed from a lovelorn lass to an Irish patriot in high fervor, to a grief-stricken sweetheart, and back. You'll simply have a fantastic time! Cormorant's Fancy tailors every show to its venue, such as high-energy St. Paddy's parties, other all-Irish celebrations, authentic all-Scottish shows and Burns Suppers, fun sing-alongs, lovely wedding sets, lively tunes for dancers and ceilidhs, laid-back restaurant sets, pumped-up pub shows, engaging school and children's presentations, gorgeous Celtic Christmas programs, happy New Year's events (Hogmanay), and Celtic worship services! Add endless combinations of the band's styles! Engaging and supportive teachers, we present a full array of workshops too. Authenticity and originality are perfect partners in everything we do! Because our band members have many talents besides playing Celtic music, Cormorant's Fancy, along with our sister band, Dearest Home, offers many options to make your wedding as unique as you are, including these services, styles, and themes: Organist/Pianist Violinist/Fiddler Soprano Soloist Alto Soloist Irish, Scottish, and/or other Celtic music Old Timey, Appalachian, and/or Civil War Era music Classical music Sacred music Clergy Officiant Ceremony Planning Themed Weddings include Celtic (Irish, Scottish), Civil War Era (in period costume), Classic, Eclectic, and more! We truly love it when our audiences sing along, clap along, and dance along! That's why you'll recognize familiar chorus songs and the infectious beats of jigs and reels. And that's why we provide sing-along sheets, and even rhythm instruments so that the young and young-at-heart join in on percussion. We get to know our venues to present shows and/or workshops that perfectly fit their needs. We delight in working with all ages and are comfortable in many settings! Celtic music is in our blood, our heritage in Ireland's County Down, Clan Donald of the Scottish Isles, Wales, Cornwall, and Celtic Canada. We love to visit our ancestral homes! Since our 2003 beginning, Cormorant's Fancy has performed for concert series, festivals, historical events, libraries, park events, coffee houses, weddings, banquets, workshop events, private parties, and worship services. We're Music, Gettysburg! concert series favorites! Festivals include Heart of the Arts Festival, Northern Appalachian Folk Festival, and Adams County Irish Festival. We entertain for yearly Burns events. Margaret, Stephen, and Beth recently played at festivals in Scotland and England. We're the Historic Fairfield Inn's house band and frequent performers at Fitzgerald's Shamrock Restaurant. The Great Cormorant is a black fishing bird native to Ireland and Great Britain. "Cormorant's Fancy" reflects how its name might entitle one of Ryan's fiddle tunes. Cormorant's Fancy: brazenly trad

Cormorant's Fancy never fails to deliver! Even with the absence of a band member due to illness, a talented singer stepped in and covered the gap. It's always a joy to have a band who understands the nature of a Robert Burns dinner and had a great musical selection prepared.
