Steve was amazing!! We had a couple of changes last minute due to covid and he was incredibly accommodating and made those changes very low stress for us. We received many many compliments on his talents and how polite he was. He arrived well dressed and professional.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on September 15, 2019From Westfield, NC

Steve was recommended to me by a friend. He performed at my daughter's wedding in Westfield at Luna's Trail Farm. He was prompt and was open to adding a song during the ceremony at the last minute! Guests later told me they were crying before the ceremony even began because the music was so touching!

Halloween PartyReviewed on October 27, 2019From Winston Salem, NC

He is awesome! So awesome that we are trying to plan events just to hear him and his group play again. I have heard quartets through out my life, but never as wonderful and precise as Steve and his group. They are great people and so nice. It was beautiful professional music and personalities. They make me want to get married again just so I can hear them play

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on November 14, 2016From Jefferson, NC

I hired Mr. Holman as a solo cellist to provide ceremony music and I could not have been more pleased. Not only was he a very talented and beautiful musician, he was also a true professional. He was prepared, prompt, worked independently without management or instruction/direction, incredibly accommodating and pleasant, and he performed beautifully and perfectly. No mistakes, no strange silence, no sheet music and equipment-a wonderful and seamless performance. He was also well beyond reasonably priced and easy to deal with on all levels. perhaps the easiest of any other part of planning the wedding. I would and will use him in the future and you should too.

Since I booked from another time zone, the gigmaster's site booked us for the wrong day! Steve worked us into his schedule and blew us away with a fantastic duet. Everyone loved the music. Thank you Steve!!!

Steve was perfect! He played all the music we requested and made the wedding very elegant. He was very professional. He played so perfectly that is was everything my bride and I wanted. Our dreams came true. Trust me if you are looking for a musician then look no further! Steve worked wonders. I would hire him again and again. Our guests kept talking about how beautiful the music was. Get him for your event before he is booked up! You can thank me later!

Wedding ReceptionReviewed on June 17, 2012From Greensboro, NC

Steve and Summit were excellent! They performed at our wedding and reception and we could not have been more pleased. The band was fun, and are excellent performers. All were friendly and approachable and felt like they were a part of our group. My husband and I can't say enough good things about Summit. If you are looking for the perfect bluegrass band, please look no further than Summit. These guys are amazing and we would hire them again in a heartbeat!

Wedding ReceptionReviewed on July 10, 2011From Butler, TN

I'm very happy we hired Summit to play for our wedding! Working with Steve was fantastic. He answered all our questions very promptly. They even learned a first dance song for us. They have a very large range of songs that kept all our guests happy, and they sounded wonderful. Our wedding was small, probably about 30 people at the music part of the reception, but Summit played like it was a giant concert. They happily accommodated requests, including playing Wagon Wheel multiple times. They even brought extra performers and played longer than the contract. I highly recommend Summit. They are true professionals, easy to work with and very accommodating!

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on September 16, 2011From Clemmons, NC

Summitt performed for our wedding and they have amazing talent! Steve Holman, leader of the group, is very easy to work with. He accomodated many song requests for the ceremony and, when it came to putting together a particular sound and my desire to still have some cello in with the classical bluegrass instruments, he was very understanding and wanted to please us and our requests. They have a very large repertoire and can play anything from traditional bluegrass to contemporary songs heard on the radio today. We are so happy they played at our event!

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on October 10, 2011From Chapel Hill, NC

The wedding turned out amazing!!! The band really helped keep the energy level up. They even coordinated with our square dance caller which was so much fun. Their cover of "I'm Yours" was the highlight of the wedding and we couldnt have asked for more. Highly recommended for other weddings or parties.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on October 29, 2018From Lake Lure, NC

Steve was really nice. He also brought another performer with him, which definitely enhanced the experience. I'm very grateful for that. However, we agreed on the following timeline:12:00-12:30(Prelude),12:30-1:00 (Ceremony), 1:00-1:30 Cocktail Hour. After the ceremony he stayed put with the other musician and continued to play under the gazebo. He did not bother to perform for the cocktail hour, which was a few yards up the hill on the terrace. They could not hear him from where he was. We did not discover this until 1:19. I found that to be pretty ridiculous. It goes without saying that you would need to travel with your instruments to perform where the guests are.

:

Any of the above negative sentiment is completely undeserved as Summit Strings went above and beyond for this bride. She hired a solo....I gave her a Duo. Her Ceremony was outside ....and I gave her amplification complete with lapel mic for the Pastor at no extra charge. When asked to move up the hill...we did in-fact move up the hill, even thou it was so noisy that no one could hear our music without amplification. We try to be as accommodating as possible ...right up to the point of getting taken advantage of. Sadly...much of our effort...to make the music for her event....the best possible...went greatly underappreciated.

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on June 22, 2015From Boone, NC

Steve and the violin player did NOT show up at my daughter's wedding. They did not call either. There was nothing for her in which to walk down the aisle. He said he was ill but there was no one else??? The violin player was hired as well. Where was he? No call?? Nothing. She was devastated. Heartbroken. I am trying to get my money back. He said he'd call to explain but I've heard nothing else. There should have been a plan B. This was a huge event in my daughter's life and a part was ruined. As mother of the bride I am furious!!!! I want more than just my money back!!! No excuse for this.

While Loading my Equipment into my car that I needed for the above gig, I collapsed (lost consciousness) and when I awoke I was in the Emergency room of the hospital. They doctors discovered that I had suffered a mild seizure. I'm very sorry that this happen as nothing like this had every occurred to me in the context of performing music. I was very stress due to the fact that my mother's health was rapidly declining due to a battle with Terminal Brain cancer. She passes away 2 days after this happen to me. Again, I'm truly and deeply sorry to the Bride and her family that these unfortunate events happened that prevented me from performing at their event.
