Encore! Broadway Singer from Buffalo Grove, IL

For more information about Encore!, including photos and video samples of some of our performances, please check out our Encore! is the traveling ensemble of the Buffalo Grove Park District adult choir, The BG Singers. This talented group of adults performs a variety of music--from jazz to pop and from oldies to the best of Broadway. Encore! was born in 1997, three years after the BG Singers presented their first concert. After the third annual BG Singers concert, many of the singers were lamenting the fact that their “season” was again coming to an end. It seemed like a long time until September when the group would reconvene to begin work on their next concert. Why not continue to perform highlights of their concert throughout the summer at venues in the Chicago area? The rest is history. Since that time, Encore! has performed at a variety of events; from charitable organizations to summer festivals; from library programs to political events; and from small private parties to large venues such as Chicago's Arlington Park Race Track and Daley Center. In 2011, Encore! gained national recognition when the group won the $20,000 grand prize in Sing!, a national vocal talent competition. They chose to donate their winnings to a local charity which helps families who have experienced sudden loss.
