The Nasty Nati Brass Band The Nasty Nati Brass Band came into being in 2012 led by Trumpeter Mike Wade consist of brass, saxophones and drums. (2 Trumpets,2 Trombones, 2 Saxophones, Tuba, Drummer, Percussionist) All the members have studied music and are working musicians who work together to produce an energetic sound through the creation of fabulous arrangements of Funk, R&B, popular, Jazz and Hip-Hop as well as other lesser well-known tunes. At gigs and at on the spot performances there are sets and arrangements so ideas, solos and riffs are inserted to provide depth, virtuosity and soul to each arrangement through a performance so that no two performances are ever the same (i.e. we call it Nasty). The Band hits the audience with a vibrant wall of sound so the music is filled with energy and life which draws the audience in and audience participation is encouraged. The Nasty Nati Brass Band's inspiration is from a long tradition of Brass Bands from New Orleans as well as marching bands from historically Black colleges and RB funk Bands such as Earth Wind and Fire, Chuck Brown and others. Expect the music to have flavors of, Latin America, Africa, the Caribbean, the Balkans, and a steady dose of R&B and good old soul. Since the band is based in southwest Ohio there is a Soulful bass and brass sound is because of the influences from James Brown, the Ohio Players and Boosty Collins. There is always a mix of original songs unique to the band, arrangements of popular songs, Mardi Gras, jazz standards, funk classics etc... And always true to the spirit of a New Orleans brass bands the desire is for everyone to have a good time through the excitement and energy of creating and listening to great live music. NNBB
