UJhoom Bollywood Dancer from Miami, FL

UJhoom is the University of Miami's internationally competing co-ed Bollywood fusion dance team. UJhoom comes from the Hindi phrase "Jhoom Barabar Jhoom" meaning to dance, swing and cheer without any limitations guaranteed to rid yourself of tension, doubt and fear! Having started as a small group, UJhoom evolved into a team, and a family, of over 30 members. We draw from our member's unique cultural backgrouds to paint a vivid and complete picture of dance. We incoporate Indian dance styles like classical, bhangra, raas and of course Bollywood. We also include Western styles like contemporary, reggae, hip-hop and various others. UJhoom's vision is to spread the rich culture of India in a medium accessible to everyone (DANCE!) that leaves a powerful message. Having performed in competitions across the US and Canada, UJhoom has the experience and drive to make a statement. We pride ourselves on ensuring our themes always hold powerful messages that are universally relatable such as drunk driving, family values and social issues. Our view has always been to entertain and educate.
