Playing old-time rootsy blues from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s all around Minneapolis and beyond, Matt Yetter has created his own niche as a slide guitar playing, harmonica tooting country blues artist. Like many other jazz and blues musicians, Matt’s ideology is to “carry on the tradition of the music, do your own versions of some of the classic songs and make them your own, as well as contribute to the tradition.” That’s what he’s doing, from the jangle and slide of his guitar and the croon of his harmonica to his rich, compelling vocals. From Fat Hill Brewing Feb 2024 Matt Yetter is the real deal: an old-school, slide guitar playing, harmonica-tooting country blues artist who characterizes music as “a way of making a connection to everybody all at once”. Regularly playing old-time, rootsy blues from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s all around Minneapolis, Matt’s created his own niche – a vibe that’s hard to come across anywhere else. Matt has over 12 years experience as a solo artist and many years performing in ensembles on different fret instruments. He is based in South Minneapolis and performs at many different venues around the area. Matt also does slide guitar and blues arrangements of popular songs from the 60's and swing tunes from the 40's.
