HWY 41 SOUTH Bluegrass Band from Venice, FL

HWY 41 SOUTH was born in October 2009 when a bunch of friends who had been playing together in different band configurations decided it was time to reconfigure and do what they had been wanting to do all along. While all members are well versed in traditional bluegrass and will always give a respectful nod to the fathers of bluegrass, they wanted the flexibility to push the envelope a little when they felt the urge. Since then, it has been quite an adventure. Their first appearance was at one of Florida's premier bluegrass festivals, Yeehaw Junction. Since then they have performed all over the state of Florida, as well as Georgia, Mississippee, and Louisiana. They have played with James King as his band, and they have opened for numerous national headline acts such as IIIrd Tyme Out, Special Consensus, Jim Lauderdale, and Goldwing just to name a few. Now in 2016 HWY 41 SOUTH is known as one of the top bluegrass bands in Florida and are quickly gaining popularity regionally and nationally. Our shows are dynamic and designed for wholesome, family fun. Some of our members have been playing professionally for 30 years or more. We like to have fun, and we love to make friends through our music. We are not afraid of mixing it up on stage and doing what it takes to engage the audience. This would include a little cutting up as you might guess, but all in good fun. The main thing is that you enjoy what we do, and that your event is special.
