About Vendor

The Chuck Nation Band is a world class ensemble of award winning performers and one of the most entertaining and versatile groups in bluegrass/acoustic music. They made their Carnegie Hall debut performance in New York City in 2015 and performed at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville in 2016. They are booked to return to Carnegie Hall in the spring. They have toured internationally in Japan, Ireland, China, Inner Mongolia and Argentina. Chuck is a member of the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame, a two-time Georgia State Fiddle Champion, Georgia State Mandolin Champion, and a Louisiana State Fiddle Champion. They are 2016 Georgia Music Awards Nominees in the Americana/Bluegrass category. Whether it's old favorites, modern songs, or original material, the Chuck Nation Band delivers professional grade lively music that engages and entertains an audience from the first moment they take the stage. Close harmony vocals and superb instrumental playing are the hallmarks of their distinctive sound. The band is based in North Georgia and has performed over 450 shows since 2010, including their second international tour in 2014 covering sixteen cities in Ireland. They have recorded 3 CD projects: On A High High Mountain, Thinking About Home, and their latest, Beneath The Tennessee Moon. They are scheduled to return to the studio in Nashville for a new recording this winter. In addition to singing and songwriting, Chuck is equally skilled at playing fiddle, banjo, mandolin, and guitar. He has shared the stage and played with bluegrass luminaries Bill Monroe, Mac Wiseman, Sam Bush, Vassar Clements, and many others. Chuck, mandolin and fiddle, has performed at the Grand Old Opry, New Orleans World's Fair, Savannah Music Festival, theater productions of Smoke On The Mountain, Always Patsy Cline, and The High Lonesome Mass. He has opened shows for folks ranging from Ernest Tubb to Mother Maybelle Carter, Mac Davis, John Hartford, Charley Pride, John Anderson, and more. In the 1970's Chuck was a member of the historic band—The Bluegrass Alliance (whose alumni includes Vince Gill, Sam Bush, & Tony Rice) which paved the way for the modern "Newgrass" music style. Susan Nation, bass, is an acclaimed singer and songwriter who has performed Americana and bluegrass music around the world. Much of the band's repertoire comes from her songwriting skills. She has her own publishing company, Only One Nation Music, and her songs have been recorded by others. Susan's singing and her solid bass playing provide a firm foundation to the band. She is an audience favorite, and with Chuck she has performed at the New Orleans World's Fair, Savannah Music Festival, toured Japan and Ireland, and played in countless churches, conferences, and festivals. Jody Hughes, banjo, is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist who performs bluegrass, solo jazz guitar, and popular music in various ensembles throughout the Southeast. He has performed at the Grand Old Opry, Merlefest, and the Philadelphia Folk Festival. Jody is a Merlefest Banjo Competition winner, and is a three-time winner of the Georgia State Championship on both guitar and banjo. Libby Nation, guitar, sings and plays many instruments equally well, has performed on Late Night with David Letterman, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Oprah Winfrey's Oscar party, Royal Albert Hall in London, and has toured professionally in Europe, Asia, and the U.S. Libby also teaches piano, guitar, and voice in Atlanta. What Others Are Saying About The Chuck Nation Band: "In a rousing display of fiddling pyrotechnics at breakneck speed, Chuck Nation "burned the house down" as the sparks flew off his bow in a jaw-dropping virtuosic fiddling display. The audience loved it and roared in approval." - New York Concert Review "Few acts work so hard, entertain so well, and elicit such enthusiastic, appreciative response. The standards, the little-known, the requests, originals—they wrapped every number in sweet harmonies and dazzling instrumentals!
