Brush Fire is an established Bluegrass Band with 35 years experience. These guys can entertain any gathering from club work to family picnics and they do it professionally and acoustically. The repertoire consists of standard Bluegrass material as well as Gospel, country (when requested) as well as more contemporary songs. Three members have played together for over 25 years at Festivals, Fairs, conventions, social events, receptions, etc. In 1990 they represented the US at the Pyrenees Folklore Festival in Oloron, France. The band claims membership in the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Honor and was a founding member of the International Bluegrass Music Association in 1985. In addition to the music the group emphasizes professionalism, punctuality, wholesomeness and dependability. Mike Fleming has played guitar with the group since it's inception. He also contributes lead and harmony vocals and, by default, serves as emcee for the stage shows. He currently resides in Sharpsburg, Ga. and is retired. Eddie Turner, mandolin, was a founding member and left the group after 23 years in 2000 in order to take advantage of employment opportunities. He is now living in Nebo, North Carolina. Better known to old timers as Dumplin, Eddie adds to the group with strong lead and tenor vocals as well as his mandolin work. Kerry Warbington joined the group in 1989 on banjo and vocal harmonies. He is well known in the bluegrass community as an exceptional banjo player and has performed with numerous groups over his career. In 2003 he retired and relocated to Cleveland, Georgia. Since that time he has played regularly at the Hiawassee Mountain Fair as well as other venues in North Georgia. The newest member of the group is Hiawassee resident Robert Brewer. Robert had been playing bluegrass around North Georgia for the past 26 years. He plays guitar and mandolin as well as upright bass. He has previously performed with Roots and Branches which produced a weekly television show on local cable. He also is involved with the music program at the Georgia Mountain Fair and Fall Festival.
