Salit Belly Dancer from New York City, NY

Born and raised in Israel, Middle Eastern dance comes naturally to passionate and engaging bellydancer, Salit. She is especially known for her star quality, snake-like moves, and the ability to improvise to any music offered, effortlessly. She gracefully incorporates her classical ballet training in to her extensive Egyptian style dance schooling. Her delicate moves yet strong presence has earned her a place in the bellydance community as a soloist as well as in various dance companies internationally. Salit has always had a passion for the performing arts and is constantly perfecting her dance skill. She has had the privilege to study under some of the greatest Egyptian and Israeli masters; Yousry Sharif, Tito, Nour, Orit Maftsir and more. Highly influenced by them, she brings a true Middle Eastern essence to the stage. Aside from appearing in nightclubs and private events, Salit has performed on Off Broadway stages, both as a dancer and as an actress-singer. She is also a proud member of the highly esteemed BellyTrance Group. Salit can perform traditional oriental dance or a modern fusion of different dance forms such as salsa, flamenco, popping, waacking, and more, which make for a unique and memorable show. Certified as an oriental dance instructor by the Wingate Institute of Sport in Israel, Salit can include a mini bellydance lesson during her show that makes her audience feel like bellydancers themselves!
