Sean Thompson; Bagpipes and folk music Celtic Bagpiper from Arvada, CO

Specializing in the Great Highland Bagpipes and dabbling in other instruments, Sean keeps the Celtic spirit alive through music! Whether you are looking for a seasoned piper or a fun and engaging pub-singer, he is sure to fit the bill. Sean's bagpipe specializations include weddings and receptions, wakes, and funerals, and he has also performed for parties, festivals, Burns Night, bar mitzvahs, belly-dance performances, a senior prank to disrupt school, and simply because somebody told him there would be free beer. Other than highland piping, Sean performs many traditional Celtic songs on guitar or bodhran, and many a tune on the Scottish Smallpipes, Irish Uilleann bagpipes or tin whistles as well. He is also a performer in many bands around the area, so feel free to inquire here for performances from his Celtic rock band Bleed'n Green, his folk bands Mulligan Stew and The Mirthfellows, or his pipe and drum band Plaid to the Bone! Sean has been performing in Colorado for twenty-five years, and has travelled to perform as far as Glasgow, Scotland! He has competed in the World Pipe Band Championships and has played at Renaissance Festivals around the United States. Just in the Colorado area, he has played at many of the major festivals including the Longs Peak Scottish Irish Festival, Pikes Peak Celtic Festival, Colorado Irish Festival, Colorado Scottish Festival, Colorado Renaissance Festival, and more. He began piping with Colorado Youth Pipe Band, becoming their pipe major for a year before aging out of the youth program. He now serves as pipe sergeant in Centennial State Pipes and Drums and works as a private bagpipe tutor.
