Rosalind Buda Bagpiper from Asheville, NC

Rosalind Buda is a highly experienced, professional musician and is available to perform on the Great Highland Bagpipes in full Scottish attire as well as with the quieter, sweet Scottish Smallpipes and whistle. The bagpipes stir the soul, uplift, and can bring a sense of both nobility and joy to any occasion. It is the piper’s great honor to provide music for funerals, memorials, weddings, special events, and celebrations of any kind. The power and beauty of the instrument can be used to create just the right atmosphere for your event. As a Great Highland Piper, Rosalind has performed with competitive pipe bands including the Stuart Highlanders (MA), St. Thomas Alumni Grade II Band (TX), and is a proud member of the Grandfather Mountain Highlanders (NC). Rosalind has performed in many different pipe and drum ensembles for festivals and performances, including performances with fiddler Jamie Laval, with EJ Jones and the Piper Jones Band, her band the Reel Sisters, and at the World Pipe Band Championships. In addition to being a highland piper, Rosalind is an accomplished folk musician and instructor who focuses on the dance music tradition of the Scottish Smallpipes. Rosalind holds a Masters of Music Degree in Bassoon Performance from the New England Conservatory of Music and performs and teaches throughout the Southwest and US.
