About Vendor

I play the bagpipe commonly known as the Great Highland Bagpipe or the Irish Warpipe. I generally perform alone but can perform with one or more other pipers and drummers. The most common demands for pipers are weddings, funerals, and parties for which I have an ample repertoire. I play a lot of the ceol mor, i.e., the great salutes, laments, etc. often called the "classical music of the pipes" and won the professional grade competition on 5/27/2016 at Scottish Fest U.S.A. at the Orange County Fairgrounds. I won the professional Pipe Major Angus MacDonald Western Regional Championship on 11/18/2017. I also play a lot of Irish and Scotch stepdance tunes most commonly associated with the auld Scotch culture of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. I have been an happy member of the American Federation of Musicians since August 15, 1996. I have two CDs available online via https://artists.spotify.com/c/artist/5JaQEYSI6Y5jAb0l4M65n2/profile/about one dealing with Hallowe'en, Los Días de los Muertos, and funerals and the other with Christmas carols.

Memorial Service Reviewed on January 5, 2025 From La Mesa, CA
Robert Burns:
Thank you for you warm comments and the treasured sharing at the family meal. For readers, it should be noted I was contracted to play at a park, was given no specific place in the park, arrived very early to find none of the memorial party at the park, was unable to reach anyone by telephone, text, or E-mail, and so I started piping at the appointed time at a proper location and the memorial party arrived afterwards. Also, my contact provided "to commence piping at 3:00 P.M. with performance of Amazing Grace before the benediction and an a light, upbeat, lively tune after the benediction for the closing of the memorial" but after the family showed up there was confusion as to what I was to play before the benediction beyond Amazing Grace which is uniformly performed as a dirge. I thus tried my best to accommodate the change in directions.Review by joseph G.
