Since Garrett had never performed for a quinceanera event (rite-of-passage celebration for 15 year old Hispanic young ladies, like a wedding without a groom), he went the extra step of coming to the event dress rehearsal the evening before to meet us, practice the entrance, and learn more about the celebration.
For entrance, he was impeccably dressed to the nines with the whole nine yards of kilt and wowed the audience. It was a cultural exchange for many of the Hispanic crowd, to experience a spectacular playing of the pipes close up.

Garrett was professional, responsive, and talented. He added a beautiful touch to my mother’s funeral mass. Many friends and family commented on how amazing the bagpiper sounded. It added a great value to the service. I highly recommend him!

I hied Garrett to play at the end of my father’s memorial service. He was so professional - arrived early, worked out the logistics, and then his performance was excellent! We received lots of compliments from those who attended. We highly recommend him!

Garrett McKenzie was awesome. Great communication. Helpful. Beautiful piping. Asked for my Mom’s favorite (Wha’ Saw the 42d’), an upbeat song as a part of her funeral. He made sure with me that’s what I wanted! Yep! And it was the toe-tapping she would have wanted. Thank you Sir!

Garrett is extremely professional, fully understands DoD and ANC rules and regulations. This specific funeral was Garrett's first General Officer funeral, i could tell he was a bit nervous/anxious when we talked on phone. But in typical Marine fashion he overcame and prevailed. He made sure the 3 requests we made were met and he performed all 3 tunes in a very profeasional manner and with concurrance from ANC. STRONGLY recommend him. This funeral was for MG Bass, USA (ret) and nothing but complements from the family! If the opportunity ever rises again I myself will request for Garrett.

Garrett was amazing. He was expeditiously responsive on a last minute request for my father’s memorial. Mr. McKenzie was prompt, professional, sharp looking and entertained everyone at our birthday celebration. He made the evening so enjoyable with his beautiful piping and his explanations of the music and the bagpipes.
My 93 year old father had a big smile on his face through the whole performance. I would recommend Garrett McKenzie to whoever is searching for someone to treat you to a wonderful Scottish celebration. He really is the best. My family will definitely be contacting Garrett again.
