About Vendor

I am Bob Cameron, Piper out of Braintree, MA. I've been piping for weddings and special events, including some annually recurring special events, since 1985. I'd be glad to work with you to make your event special. I have a variety of uniforms to suit almost any occasion and a wide repertoire. In addition to the familiar Great Highland Bagpipes, I also play Lowland Bagpipes, a bellows- blown variety of bagpipe with a tone similar to the Great Highland pipes, but at about half the volume, and Scottish Smallpipes with a quiet, mellow tone, quite suitable for playing in a small room. Bachelor of Music degree from Lowell State College 1974, Studied bagpipes under Archie MacLeod, late PM of the Stuart Highlanders of Bedford, MA. Member of The Lowland and Border Pipers' Society, The Bagpipe Society and American Federation of Musicians, Local 9-535, Boston Musicians' Association. Author of published collections of original tunes for bagpipes, including compositions published in The LBPS "30 Years of LBPS Tunes " and "From Other Shores", Volume 1 published in 2003, Volume 2 published in 2022 and Volume 3 currently in progress. Performance awards include second and third place in the Lowland and Border Pipers' Association Overseas Division Performance Contest. Places where I have performed include The Cathedral Of The Holy Cross in Boston, Old South Church, Harvard University, USS Constitution, Hynes Auditorium, The Boston Exposition and Convention Center, Boston Harbor Hotel on Rowe's Wharf, The Seaport Hotel, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, Berklee Performance Center, Meadowbrook School of Weston, Northeastern University, numerous churches, private homes, businesses, parks and cemeteries in Greater Boston. I am the piper for The Hull Firefighters, The British Officers’Club of New England and Boston College Agapé Latte/ Espresso Your Faith Week. I am also a trained tenor, singing opera arias, Neapolitan songs and other art songs, liturgical music and other genres. I have sung the National Anthem in various venues and vents including un-accompanied and un-mic'ed on USS Constitution for an Officer Commisioning and a Retirement. Uniform choices include Scottish and Irish outfits from casual to formal and regimental.
