The High, Wide & Handsome Band Americana Band from Bellingham, WA

The High, Wide and Handsome Band loves to play weddings. Often we start with an early happy hour set (either low volume or totally acoustic) between the ceremony and dinner. Then, after dinner we amp it up and play a few hours of dance music. There are a lot of ways to throw a party and we’re happy to cater to the needs of your party. Basic MC duties are included. PA and/or music for the ceremony can be provided for an additional fee. The High, Wide and Handsome Band plays a wide variety of American roots music. Including but not limited to: swing, blues, ragtime, county, oldies, folk, Irish, country, rockabilly, and hot jazz. In addition, the band members' collective repertoire is hundreds of songs and we’re always open to taking requests. Our goal is to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable dancing: kids to grandparents. We play a mix of slow songs, waltzes, and up-tempo tunes, always reading the crowd, and being sensitive to the evolving needs of a party. It was a long drive, during a very hot day, in an unconventional setting, and the band rocked it out! They were there and already playing when we walked back up with aisle to our reception, and they were on-stage playing to a happy crowd, ready for our first dance. The band even covered a song request we threw at them. They were professional, fun, and went above and beyond to make our wedding day memorable.
