About Vendor

The Barton Hollow Collective is a group of musicians including Ali Cook (Ali and the Wild Geese) and Eric Booth (Barton Hollow). Artists in the collective frequently perform together in various formations and play a variety of genres ranging from Americana to Indie-Folk Rock, Country, Pop, Jazz, R&B, Classic Rock, Classical and many more. They have a diverse repertoire that includes classic covers and original compositions. Guitar, upright bass, violin, and vocals are available in any formation to bring live music to your event. We can also provide sound and lighting equipment if needed. We'll decide which musicians will best suit your event. Here are their biographies: Ali C. is a singer, songwriter, bassist, composer, and arranger. She writes from her life, sonically coloring stories with the strings of the guitar, upright bass, and violin. Her soulful and crystalline voice has been compared to Norah Jones and Gillian Welch and their sound can be categorized as Americana or Indie-Folk Rock, but nothing quite fits as they are influenced by Jazz, R&B, and Classical music as well as many others; each song its own sound world. Ali has earned degrees in music from Michigan State University, Indiana University, and Manhattan School of Music as well as a fellowship at the Tanglewood Music Center with the Boston Symphony. Before songwriting, Ali performed as a classical double bassist with orchestras around the country including the National Symphony, Detroit Symphony, and Baltimore Symphony. She still tours the world with an Argentine tango chamber music ensemble called QuinTango and teaches private music lessons in Austin. Eric B. is a singer/songwriter that creates and performs original acoustic Americana tunes with 'Barton Hollow' and various other projects in and around Austin, TX. His original work is heavily influenced by artists of the Texas Panhandle where he grew up and helped burnish his dolorous sound. He coordinates various projects with a cluster of talented musicians, recording artists, and photographers out of his studio 'Barton Hollow Collective.' Tony P., Violin, got his start in Las Cruces, NM to a family of musicians. He started violin at 11 playing in his school’s top orchestras, jazz band, and multiple gigging bands all throughout his childhood. In 2015 he continued to Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ where he completed his undergraduate degree in violin performance. He continued to perform in, and around the Flagstaff music scene with various folk, rock, funk, blues, jazz, and experimental music projects, in addition to formally studying both jazz, and classical violin at NAU. Towards the end of college, he broadened his music education by learning from notable violinists such as Mark O’Connor (Grammy award winning bluegrass/jazz fiddler), Christian Howes (World-Renown jazz violinist), and Jason Anick (violinist of New England’s premier Gypsy Jazz ensemble Rhythm Future Quartet). Today, he has been performing and teaching around the Austin, TX area since July of 2021 playing in bands such as Pendulum Hearts (gypsy jazz & honky-tonk), Hot Texas Swing Band (honky tonk and dancehall country), Quintango (tango), Rosie & The Ramblers (country), Ben Balmer Band (singer-songwriter) Ali & The Wild Geese (singer songwriter), and many others. Will M., Guitar, is an Austin-based guitarist. He draws inspiration for his fingerstyle technique from a wide variety of players, including Mark Knophler, Tommy Emmanuel, Lindsey Buckingham, John Butler, Stephen Stills, and Jimmy Page. Will is proudly from the state of Maine, and works as a Chief Engineer on a tugboat in order to “fund his guitar habit”. He has lived and worked in Austin as a session guitarist for several bands since 2020. Daniel B., Bass and Vocals, is originally from Arlington, TX, Daniel Benoit is a professional bass player with music degrees from The University of North Texas, Indiana University, and Berklee College of Music. He played in the Air Force Band in Washington, DC for four years and now teaches private bass lessons in Round Rock ISD. He enjoys playing all styles of music and infuses Ali and the Wild Geese with his experience from classical, jazz, rock, bluegrass, and more. Outside of music, Daniel likes to play all kinds of card, board, and video games.
