Hi! My name is "Shreeps" (pronounced with a long "ee") and short for "Shreepal" (pronounced "Shri-paul"). I grew up in a suburb west of Philadelphia that people refer to as the Main Line. Singing was a big part of my young life and I was active in all the school choir and vocal ensemble programs. I enrolled in Emory University in Atlanta, GA for college where I majored in Economics and continued singing. (At this point, music & the guitar was just a hobby). After college, I got the music "bug" and ended up enrolling in the guitar performance program at the Atlanta Institute of Music and Media (https://aimm.edu/), a vocational program for aspiring professionals. I committed myself to the art of performance then & still do to this day! After almost a decade and a half of playing music professionally, I went back to law school and licensed to practice intellectual property and entertainment law (www.zalaiplaw.com) in 2021, something I am also very passionate about! I have never been happier or more productive! I've told several people at gigs since that finding proper balance in your life can do wonders for your mental health and productivity! I keep a daily guitar & vocal practice schedule that I continue to log and still set regular (quarterly and annual) goals in pursuit of getting better as a musician and performer! Mostly though, I got here playing professionally for many years (~18yrs), most of those years as a fulltime musician. I have played music professionally for coming up on almost 20 consecutive years! I'm probably best described as a singer/songwriter type, but I've also developed a vocal range to perform a wide variety of artists and genres. My songlist spans seven decades of artists and genres - anything from the Beatles, Tom Petty, George Strait, Van Morrison, Zac Brown Band, Amos Lee, The Allman Brothers, John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Dave Matthews, Paul Simon, Prince, & more! Over the years, I worked up 600+ songs into my repertoire. I can entertain and appeal to all types of ages and parties! After graduating from Emory University (2004) and the Atlanta Insititute of Music (2007), I booked and played gigs in and around Atlanta, GA and up and down the East Coast. I played all of the nicest and most expensive venues and rooms around the Southeastern US including The Fox Theater, The Biltmore Estate, The Ritz-Carlton at Reynolds Plantation, Barnsley Gardens, The Foundry at Puritan Mill (Atlantic Station). This was in addition to high-profile bookings at annual events like Sip Brookhaven, The Roswell Wine Festival, and Dunwoody Country Club socials. I've played every type of gig imaginable (ok, ok, no Elvis impersonations yet). By that I mean, wedding ceremonies, rehearsal dinners, corporate parties, private event, galas/grand openings, holiday parties, birthday parties - really anywhere you'd have a need for live music. Most recently, I relocated to New Jersey to be closer to my aging parents. It's not far from Philadelphia so it's like coming home a bit. Still I was in Atlanta for over two decades, so it's a big change! I am in the central NJ area for now with plans to settle somewhere with equal access to gigs north in Jersey City/Hoboken, down the coast towards Atlantic City, and then also the Philadelphia area. I am super excited to be here, I think it's going to suit me! I have found from experience that the best methodology to guarantee great live music for an event is the following: 1. Make sure to discuss the goals for the party and (importantly!) any necc sound reinforcement 2. Pick out a pool of songs for your event! My songlist is at www.shreepsmusic.com/songlist 3.
