Hi! My name is Shreepal Zala (pronounced Shree-paul). Most people call me by my nickname "Shreeps" (pronounced with a long "ee"). I'm a first generation American (my parents are from India) who grew up outside of Philadelphia (in Bryn Mawr). I spent a long time in the Atlanta area before coming back to the Tri-state area in 2022 to be closer to family. I'm currently residing in the NJ are and purposefully less than an hour from the NY & Philly areas. I'm probably best described as a singer/songwriter type, but I grew up singing and so have the vocal range to perform a wide variety of artists and genres. My songlist spans decades of artists and genres - anything from the Beatles, Tom Petty, George Strait, Van Morrison, Zac Brown Band, Amos Lee, The Allman Brothers, John Lennon, Bob Dylan, Dave Matthews, Paul Simon, Prince, & more! Over the years, I worked up 600+ songs into my repertoire. This is how I'm able to entertain and appeal to all types of parties! After graduating from Emory University (2004) and the Atlanta Insititute of Music (2007), I spent the next decade booking and playing gigs in and around Atlanta, GA and up and down the East Coast. Over the last 18 years, I've played over a thousand gigs in some notable venues around the southeast US including The Fox Theater, The Biltmore Estate, The Ritz-Carlton at Reynolds Plantation, Barnsley Gardens, The Foundry at Puritan Mill (Atlantic Station) and for some high-profile events including Sip Brookhaven, The Roswell Wine Festival, and Dunwoody Country Club events. I've played almost every type of gig imaginable too like weddings, corporate events, private event, grand openings, holiday parties, birthday parties, et al - really anywhere where you'd have a need for live music. I have brought all that experience with me to the Tri-state area and am excited to build another happy list of clientele here in the area. My live performances have a fun professional quality to them which I've honed through experience. I have seen it all in a sense. From all that experience, I have found the best methodology to guarantee great live music for your event is the following. 1. Make sure to discuss the goals for the party and any necessary sound reinforcement What type of experience are you looking to create? For how many people? Would any guests of honor have musical requests? 2. Pick out a pool of songs from my list of hundreds that fits your event! This really helps set an amazing expectation and focuses preparation. 3. Square away details in a contract including day-of schedule and contact information. 4. Touch base 24-48 prior to the event for any last minute considerations. 5.
