John Ruzicka (acoustic classic rock favorites) Acoustic Guitarist from Scituate, MA

John "the Skipper" Ruzicka has been playing guitar and singing since college. After honing his chops in various bands in San Diego for several years, he moved to the east coast and has since developed his own acoustic solo act. Using a loop pedal and vocal harmonizer, John builds layers of sound that mesh together and entertain audiences of all sizes. Since moving to the Boston area, he's played at the legendary House of Blues a handful of times, along with several local pubs, events, and parties all along the South Shore and Cape Cod. Sticking with time-tested favorites, John's set list is recognizable -- though anything but typical. He specializes in deeper cuts from beloved artists, mashups, and reimagined versions of classic songs. In any given hour you might hear him play a rocking version of a Lionel Richie tune followed by some 90s hip hop and perhaps a straightforward version of Bob Seger or Van Morrison. He's always working on new tunes and new versions to keep things interesting.
