Alan Meyers Accordion Player from Pittsburgh, PA

I am an accordionist, keyboard player and singer with lots of experience. Originally trained in classical piano(of which I am still fond), I played electric piano, saxophone and bass guitar in a jazz/rock band with other kids from my neighborhood and that same group is still active to this day. When in my teenage years somebody once asked me if I could play accordion for a wedding, one week away so I procured a squeeze box learned the instrument, a number of wedding songs and that was the first of many weddings to come. In my twenties I played keyboards in saloons all over town with a local rhythm and blues band for a while until i was hired as keyboard player and bandleader for the famous singing group The Marcells of Blue Moon fame and toured with them for seven years.I can put on a high energy and interactive variety show covering many genres and styles of music and can sing in eight languages, interspersing my numbers with jokes and am very popular at nursing/retirement homes. Very eclectic repertoire covering pop, rock, soul, country, oldies, polka, klezmer and much more. One fan described my act as the Ed Sullivan Show on steroids. I can also do shows for Oktoberfest, mardi gras and other holiday themes.
