RACER X 80s Band from Portland, ME

RACER-X is Maine's original live 80's retro-tribute act, playing with the same talented lineup since 2002. RACER-X features a four piece pop/rock band with a long song list and pro lighting/sound. Front man Vin Shende is Chair of the Bowdoin College music department, and is regularly commissioned to compose classical music pieces for performance throughout the world. With RACER-X, however, he is music director and vocalist/lead guiarist extraordinairre for one unique and very energetic live music tribute act! RACER-X has played at Sugarloaf, Bowdoin, Fenway Park, Casco Bay Lines, Sunday River, Colby College, and many other venues since 2002, including at many nightclubs, weddings, and events in New England. The band's take on favorites from the 80's is to reproduce them similar to the original rendering, with the occasional original flair to keep people on their toes. All instruments - guitar, keys, bass and drums are capable of synth sounds to mirror the original artist's version. The band provides its own sound and lights technician for all shows, and surprises with retro costume wear certain to get people's attention. The result is a dance party like none other since, well....the 80's!!!
