80s Gadgets is a fun and entertaining cover band delivering recognizable 80s hits to party-goers throughout the Dallas / Fort Worth metroplex. We play a ton of 80s favorites that you know (Crrrrraaack that whip!!) and if you're looking for some variety we can drop in dance songs to enjoy. From 80s pop to new wave to rock and everything in between, 80s Gadgets performs the hottest music from the 80s that you and your guests will love! What makes us different? 1. We all dress up in 80s outfits 2. We tell jokes between songs (we are all stuck in the 80s) and engage w/the audience 3. Our lead singer can REALLY SING WELL 4. We are easy to work with, super flexible 5. We adorn the stage with all kinds of fun 80s paraphernalia (think E.T., Alf, and larger-than-life Rubik's Cube) 6. We actually play the songs live on real instruments and not tracks (some bands rely on karaoke tracks to play along to -- but we're 100% instruments). 7. We are FUN! The Gadgets were heavily influenced from watching MTV in the early days, where they witnessed big hair, larger-than-life synthesized sounds, massive makeup (on both men and women), and mainstream pop melodies that would always leave behind and earworm. Brothers Tory Glen Smith (lead guitar), and Sandy Smith (lead vocals) banded together with their talented musician friends where they could re-live their childhood memories and entertain crowds in a fun, light-hearted way. 80s Gadgets spans a variety of 80s rock (e.g. Billy Idol, Queen), pop (e.g. Prince, George Michael), new wave (e.g. The Cure, Duran Duran) and even the one-hit wonders (e.g. Devo) that we all know and love.
