RIPTIDE: Band Bio Narrative Welcome to Riptide’s Biography-2024 Who we are: A 7-piece classic rock band based in Northern Virginia. Band make-up: • 1 x Lead Vocalist • 1 x Lead, background and Harmony Vocalist • 2 x Lead and Rhythm guitars • 1 x Bass guitar • 1 x Drums • 1 x Keyboards Our genre: Classic rock and pop from 1960’s to 1990’s (and can cater for specific songs requested) Our style: Riptide delivers great musical taste and a varied repertoire with tight vocal harmonies and overall musicianship. Apart from our lead singer(s) we have four other members who contribute to singing certain songs and providing background harmonies. The band members come from a variety of backgrounds, a few having served our country in the armed services. Some are members of the Alexandria Harmonizers who are a renowned men's acapella chorus founded in 1948. Performance history: The band has been performing for over 9 years, playing at festivals, private parties, bars and homes. Home-based in the Fairfax area of Northern Virginia, the band has performed at venues across Virginia and in Maryland. Riptide covers a wide spectrum of music that engages the crowd and plays the songs that audiences know and love. Specializing in variety, the band can adjust its energy level depending on the situation. Venues played include Rocky Gap Casino, Potomac Nationals Stadium, Fredericksburg's Market Square Summer Concert Series, Burke Summer Series, Village Brauhaus, The Electric Palm, Backyard Grille, and the Fairfax Fall Festival, Corporate Events, and many private parties.
