Chris is an excellent musician with vast experience & knowledge. I am so grateful he was recommended for my wedding day. Chris is down to earth & easy to talk with when discussing music options and song selection. He gave me his professional opinion regarding song selection & appropriateness for each moment in the ceremony. Chris is full of creativity & provides a customized & modern touch to classic music. The sound was crisp & lively with just the right volume for the setting. We were over the moon with Chris' performance for our wedding & our guests loved him!! We highly recommend him for any event and plan to continue attending his local performances!

Working with Chris was a wonderful experience. He is professional, polite, flexible, responsive, and best of all - AMAZINGLY TALENTED!! Chris played the perfect repertoire of contemporary pop/rock/alternative hits but with his own unique twist. I have a music background, and many guests are also music lovers. We were all BLOWN AWAY by Chris' talent, range of songs/styles and overall performance. We had a house party -- Chris' sound/lights set-up was perfectly festive (not obtrusive at all!). I would highly recommend Chris for many types of parties. He was just terrific, and made my 40th birthday a very special and memorable celebration. Thanks so much!

I had Chris help me re-enact a moment I had with my Girlfriend in New Orleans for an engagement in San Diego. He was very accommodating even though I changed the area three times. He was able sing the song all while a crazy dude was on the street was applauding him (just like NOLA). He is an awesome singer and somehow he captured the moment in one of the best pictures with lighting I've seen, all with a cell phone camera. Very prompt, great communication and professional. Just hire Him!!! I booked Chris for my sister's 40th birthday party and he did not disappoint! Chris is professional, courteous, responsive, punctual and most importantly he is incredibly talented. He has an amazing voice and a song list so long he went for over four hours straight and still had plenty of material to spare!!! Everyone at the party was impressed and many asked for his business card when the night was over. I would hire him again in a heartbeat! Thank you Chris for making our night so special!

Chris James did an AMAZING job at our wedding on 3/28 at Scripps Seaside Forum! We booked him super last minute (literally two days before the wedding) and could not be happier with our decision. He was very responsive, professional, and accommodating. He played beautiful music while our guests were arriving at the ceremony - I could hear it from my green room and it brought tears to my eyes. Then he played "thousand years" and an upbeat "canon in d" for the processional/recessional and they were just perfect. I'm reluctant to write these review only because I don't want him to get completely booked up and not be available for our next event. But, I won't be selfish, and will write an honest review. Chris came fully prepared, was professional, and played a great mix of songs. He was such a hit during our cocktail hour hosted for clients that I want to have him at our holiday event and future events! I highly recommend Chris!

Chris recently performed at our company anniversary party and he was extremely talented and professional! From the beginning of our communication he was very responsive. Chris put on an outstanding performance at a cocktail party I held at my house. Chris read the crowd and small venue perfectly, around a dozen guests. The music was at the perfect level, and the song selection was consistent with the song genres I had provided Chris prior to the party, upbeat & feel-good music.
All of my guests texted me the day after the party and raved about Chris.

Every one at the event loved Chris! It's all I heard all night. We loved his voice, his choice of music, and he is also very accommodating. The sound system he brought allowed us to be right in front of his stage and still be able to hear one another without having to yell. Yet, if you were at the back of the room he still came through clear and beautifully. I would recommend Chris James to anyone! I hope we have an opportunity to have him at our next event.

Chris was responsive to my email so that i could get my evening organized. He sent me a huge song list and was ready to play anything i requested. Additionally, since the room was small, he accommodated the volume so everyone could enjoy the evening. i would look forward to engaging him for another event and highly recommend him.

We hired Chris for our wedding as an acoustic guitarist/singer and informal MC. He did an incredible job and we received countless positive comments from guests. People were particularly impressed that he could sing so well for such a long time - about 6 hours. He did everything we requested and was very flexible when a few things changed along the way. He was readily available for questions and helped put out minds at ease. We did not give him much guidance on the reception music, but still his song choice was right on point and he seemed to read the crowd well. Would gladly hire him for an event in the future.

I highly recommend Chris James for any event you may have in mind. We had a small, intimate wedding of less than 20 people. Not only did Chris show up early for set up, but he was able to accommodate our needs, such as two different venues for ceremony and reception, on our special day. He is a wonderful performer and he ensured all our guests had a great time. We thoroughly enjoyed having Chris as our musician. 5 STARS!

We hired Chris to play for our wedding and reception. From the start, Chris was great to work with. He was very responsive to emails, he was open to song ideas and very flexible. He even learned a few new songs for my wedding which was amazing! During the wedding, we had a few surprises for the guests, involving different music being played at certain times of the reception, and Chris was able to help us execute perfectly with very little notice. He was just all around amazing. After the wedding, we had guests rave about the music! Would defiantly recommend Chris!
