Darius was wonderful! We had a terrible storm that flooded some areas and stopped most of the guests from coming... the storm also delayed our organist. Darius offered to play the whole ceremony for us! Since we were already running very late it was a gracious offer. The organist eventually showed up but it was a weight off of me(the bride) to know that he could step in. The pipes sounded amazing!!!! I am very happy with his performance. If you book with him you will not be disappointed!

He was on time, prepared, and met all of our needs. I would suggest using this performer to anyone who would like bagpipes at a special event.

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on July 29, 2007From Breezy Point, NY

Darius was an absolute pleasure to work with. He went above and beyond by learning songs that we requested for my father's 60th surprise party and surprised us all with "Happy Birthday" on the bagpipes. He had the whole party jumping out of their seats... literally! The guests loved him and it really added a special touch to the day. The manager of the restaurant asked me for Darius's info saying that she really loved his disposition and the quality of his work. If you are on the fence of whether or not you should hire him, don't be! Its worth every cent! Thanks Darius, it was a day to remember! The Kennedy family

Darius was the icing on our wedding cake. I cannot say enough good things about his professionalism, talent, flexibility of instrument and in customer service, and he is just an all around great person. My wife and I had him at the church of our wedding this past weekend. We have several consultation calls where we decided on what was to be played (which he played for us over the phone beautifully) and when it was to be played in the wedding. We were so impressed we decided that we didn’t need an organist, just Darius. He was prompt at the church and played the guests into the church with a selection of songs on the bagpipes. Ten minutes before the start of the wedding he moved inside and played another round of selected songs while the parents and grandparents were introduced and seated. Right on time he went into “Here Comes the Bride” and it was flawless. While the ceremony was going on he prepared for the solo between readings and again was right on time to play the Irish flute that I don’t think left a dry eye in the church. To top it all off, when we said our “I do’s” and were announced to our friends and family he came up the isle and escorted us out of the church in a very impressive and dignified manor. And…. also played while everyone filed out of the church. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding and Darius was one of the top things people praised about. We had only seen him the day of our wedding but through his diligent contact leading up to the wedding day we felt as if he was an old friend that happened to be playing the pipes for us. I’m sure there are others on this site that do well but if you want the best of the best you should book Darius before someone else gets him. We highly regard him as a skilled musician and a wonderful person. As we told him after the wedding, he has a talent that very few have the opportunity to have and everyone is lucky that he has chosen to share his love for his music. Please ask him for us as a reference, we are more than willing to answer any questions on our experience. Craig & Heather

Darius was wonderful. He was everything I expected from the talent to the outfit he wore. He played every song I requested. His presence added so much to my wedding, everyone thought he was great. His bagpipe performance was one of the most memorable moments of my wedding day. I had my hopes up that his performance would be perfect and he didn't let me down, he definitely delivered.

Darius was great - he played the bagpipes, irish whistle and even serenaded my mother - she had a great day on her 75th birthday - we took her to the St. Patrick's Day Parade - and when we arrived at her party, Darius was ready and begain playing the bagpipes as soon as everybody yelled "Surprise!". I have given his business card to my mother's friend and my husband's business associate for their upcoming weddings. - Sincerely - Chrstine Hirstius

Darius was a fantastic addition to our wedding. He helped me choose the music, he was very easy going for this high strung bride, and he played beautifully (even though it was raining on him- sorry Darius!)He was a big hit- I highly recommend him!

What a delightful addition to our wedding! The bride and groom and all of our guests remarked about our bagpiper. Darius was a delight to deal with, and was most professional. We would use him again and recommend him without reservation.

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on May 28, 2006From Norwalk, CT

Darius Kaufman played the pipes for my father's 100th birthday party on Sunday, 5/28 for about 50-60 family members, friends and neighbors. My father is Scottish-English and has always loved listening to the pipes and appreciates the talent it takes to be a good piper. He absolutely loved listening to Darius! As my Dad arrived at the party, Darius played for him and led him into the community center, playing my Dad's favorite march. Dad requested "Simple Gifts" twice and Darius was happy to play. The group consisted of seniors, middle aged and young children and they were all delighted with the music. Darius played the penny whistle and didjeridoo for the children and they immediately got up and danced - it was wonderful to watch! Darius played outside under a cloudless sky as guests arrived and then played inside the room at intervals. The highlight was playing "Happy Birthday" on the pipes. He was extremely attentive to my Dad and friendly to all the guests who had many questions and compliments. Darius called several weeks prior to the party to explain what he does and asked good questions and then called several days before to check on directions, time and again to ask for any special requests - totally professional, but warm and friendly. I would highly recommend Darius for any event. I was so touched by his manner with the children and his kindness and interest towards my father on his 100th birthday. Everyone expressed their joy in having shared this day with my Dad and our family. Jane Graham, Norwalk, CT
