Brian was great to work with, he was very happy to take our input regarding tunes to play and where to set up etc. He also worked with us to maintain his playing as a surprise for our son at his wedding. I highly recommend Brian to anyone in need of an authentic and talented Scottish Bagpiper.

Brian's beautiful playing added the perfect ambience and sentiment as we laid our parents to rest. He was so easy to work with, highly professional, and sensitive, and I cannot recommend him highly enough!

Saint Patrick's Day PartyReviewed on March 18, 2013From Redmond, WA

OUTSTANDING--if I could give Brian more stars I would!! He was exceptionally accommodating and available prior to our event and once he arrived it was even better. Brian played a variety of songs both planned and requested and even played a song that he learned by ear at our party! In addition, Brian taught us a traditional Scottish jig to match some of the songs he played! Even while on break, Brian happily answered our guest's questions. At all times Brian was exceedingly professional yet also very relaxed and accessible to our guests and his presence elevated our gathering to an event that will be talked about for years to come. I HIGHLY recommend Brian!!

FuneralReviewed on September 17, 2013From Mount Vernon, WA

Brian was AMAZING to deal with. I arranged for him to play at my grandfathers funeral. I'm in Los Angeles and the funeral was in Washington. Having Brian was a final Farrell gift to my papa and Brian made it so special. He performance was so touching and beautiful. He stayed after he played and even talked with the guests and my family, not knowing any of them. I'm so grateful to brian! Thank you!

Wedding Cocktail HourReviewed on May 4, 2013From Port Orchard, WA

Brian was a great addition to our wedding. We exchanged emails and spoke on the phone to go over the play list. He even provided YouTube videos of the songs he recommended for the recessional music. On the day he arrived early and made sure that all was in order before the ceremony~not just for his performance, but he made sure all of our boys put their kilt accoutrements on properly! He was a big hit with our wedding guests!

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on September 30, 2019From Cedar Rapids, IA

I would, without question, hire Brian again for another event. Brian played the pipes for our wedding day and we couldn’t have asked for a better performance. The music was in honor of my grandfather and, even people who did not know him, felt the emotion behind the music. Brian went out of his way to learn a specific song that I wanted played as I walked down the aisle and perfected it for the big day! We cannot thank Brian enough for being such an impactful part of our wedding!

If I could give Mr. McKenzie more stars than 5 I would. He was everything we could have asked for and more. His music was all that people were talking about at the wedding. He was extremely accommodating and professional (even moved times and locations a few days prior to our wedding day).

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on January 28, 2019From Nashua, IA

Brian did not disappoint. He has excellent talent and about the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. This birthday was celebrated as a surprise in the middle of a church service and a lot was unplanned and off the cuff. He went with the flow and made a fabulous impression with the entire congregation. We would hire him again in a heart beat. We are VERY satisfied with the entire experience.

He made my event extra special and brought that special classy touch I was looking for. People engaged him in conversation and requests which he eagerly agrees to. He got some girls to dance and made many people’s hearts happy and light. I highly recommend him and will hire him again!!

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on July 9, 2018From La Crosse, WI

Brian added elegance to our ceremony. He worked with our pianist to play two duets. He played songs not common to the bagpipe- Lord of the Dance, with eloquence. Wonderful to work with, he and the other musicians took away any pre-wedding worries about the music. Rare and wonderful talent in a nice guy!

Memorial ServiceReviewed on July 8, 2018From Dodgeville, WI

Brian led the gathering of family and friends on a half mile procession through our restored Prairie, high in the rolling hills of Southwest Wisconsin. My father was very proud of his Scottish heritage and the setting could have easily been the Scottish highlands--exactly what my father would have wanted. The piping was flawless and beautiful. During the entire 1 hour ceremony, Brian stood at attention, like a military guard. There is not a single member among the group that wasn't profoundly impacted by Brian's presence and musical tribute to my father (who was an extremely talented musician). Brian drove 4 hours round trip. Can't find enough words to say thank-you.

I hired Brian to play at my son's wedding as a surprise. He communicated arrival time and was fully dressed and prepared to play when he arrived./He started out at the end of the long drive leading to the outdoor wedding. My son heard the sounds and was so amazed. All of the guests thought it was memorable. I would recommend him for any occasion.

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on July 2, 2017From Tacoma, WA

Brian and his drummer friend Scott were fantastic! We just got back from Scotland and were planning my Mom's 90th birthday party and thought a bagpiper and drummer would add great fun and atmosphere. It DID! They sounded terrific and Brian is obviously a master piper. My mom loved it as did all our our guests - and neighbors :) ! They played all our favorites including the theme from Outlander (which all the ladies love!). They were great guys, very conversational and so talented. We enjoyed every minute from the moment they marched in playing until they marched out. You'll be very very happy with Brian McKenzie. HIGHLY recommended.

WeddingReviewed on October 13, 2016From Snohomish, WA

I hired Brian to surprise my son and daughter-in-law to play them down the aisle at the end of their wedding ceremony. Brian was so easy to work with, pleasant and fun! He was so flexible and asked lots of questions so that he was able to provide the experience we were hoping for. The look of surprise on my son and daughter-in-law's faces, and all the wedding guests, was priceless! Brian was wonderful and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone who is looking for a bagpiper to make their event memorable! Thanks, Brian, so appreciate your contribution to the day!

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on September 7, 2016From Mukilteo, WA

Brian was absolutely a massive and special part of our wedding ceremony as the Bagpiper. If there were a 10 star rating, I would give him 10 stars in all categories. The guest raved about him, he took pictures with us and guests and needless to say his playing performance was magnificent at an outdoor venue too. His professionalism and pre-planning with us was top-notch, helping us choose songs, sending us samples and meticulously going over details of the ceremony so everything would go off without a hitch. One of the best days of our life. Thanks Brian!
