Wedding ReceptionReviewed on July 12, 2014From Mount Angel, OR

My husband and I am so happy to have found John Wayland Harr for our wedding ceremony music! We were married in a beautiful gothic style church and really wanted the music to match, elegant and unique to our personal tastes. John was wonderful to work with. He gave guidance in choosing our music by suggesting songs that fit the style I described. He also guided us in the timeline of music played during the ceremony which was really helpful. He was always very timely in our correspondence and arrived very early on the wedding day to set-up his equipment. Afterwards, everyone complimented the beautiful music :) John Harr is an excellent choice! Thanks John!

John was really lovely to work with. He was accommodating, timely, flexible and organized, and his performance was just stellar! If you are seeking a solo guitarist for your event, John is a great bet. He also worked well with our other performers, and took the initiative to coordinate with them onsite to ensure a smooth performance. He wowed our group with his skill and we couldn't be happier. Thank you, John!

John is a true gem! He was courteous and accommodating and his playlist is extensive. He gave us a ton of options and played everything beautifully. We appreciate his reaching out to us prior to the event to confirm all details and reaching out to us post event to say thank you. He is humble and an amazing talent who we look forward to working with again!

John was AMAZING at our wedding. We asked him to learn two new songs for our ceremony, and not only did he oblige, but they were wonderful! Many of our guests commented on how beautiful his playing was and asked how they can find him in the future! Thank you SO MUCH John for being a part of our special day, your talent and professionalism exceeded our expectations and helped make our wedding dreams come true!

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on September 29, 2013From Kent, WA

My event was a house party...Mother's 90th (25-30 people). It rained hard all day and all were indoors however John didn't let the elevated noise level bother him in the least!! He played on in spite of the noise of conversation... a baby crying ...and even played while answering questions for a couple of the children ...didn't miss a note or a beat!! How did you do that??? I would have given anything to have his music all to myself.. his skill level is phenomenal. He even sat at the piano in my home and skillfully played a few tunes. Thanks John for a great job! Everybody asked me how I found you... and Mother (just turned 90) thought you were wonderful!

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on June 2, 2013From Portland, OR

John recently played for our backyard wedding, and we couldn't have been happier! He responded quickly and thoroughly with our questions, came over to house prior to the wedding to demonstrate some songs, and was very accommodating with our requests. We had a friend play a song during the ceremony and John kindly offered to let him use his amp and microphone. He has a great manner and professional attitude, and many guests commented on how beautifully he played. He added a lovely feel to our ceremony - we would highly recommend his services!

John was absolutely outstanding! He didn't stop playing for the entire wedding. His repertoire was excellent and was very flexible and accommodating to any suggestions my now husband and I had. We were all very impressed with his skills. Everyone wanted to know where we found him. He was absolutely professional in every sense of the word. Answered emails right away and was on top of everything. We will definitely recommend him and will for sure hire him again once another even comes up. Thank you Jhon for making our special day even more special!! M&J

Wedding CeremonyReviewed on October 1, 2012From Quincy, WA

John Wayland played at my wedding and was absolutely astounding. I had envisioned a romantic solo guitar sound playing in the background. I requested a few songs but I left the rest up to him. He played throughout my entire ceremony and his selections were perfect. John did a beautiful job of capturing the romantic ceremony I envisioned. I am beyond happy with his performance. I recommend him highly. He's a wonderful performer but also diligent in his emails. He responds quickly and clearly. It is also apparent in his email responses that he has thoroughly read and understood yours. I can’t remember a time I was this happy with a service. John is AMAZING!

John provided us with an afternoon of delightful and stimulating music. We used his gifts for a private party and his selections of music enhanced the event tremendously. John was professional in every aspect, thoughtful about how the event should be handled, prompt and very gracious to interact with. I highly recommend him and hope to have the privilege to engage his services in the future again. Thanks John!

Wedding ReceptionReviewed on July 21, 2012From Waitsburg, WA

I was impressed with Mr. Harr from my first correspondance with him through the last song he played our wedding night. Mr. Harr was easy to talk to and he was very prompt returning calls and emails. He went above and beyond by learning new songs just because we requested them, and he had been practicing all the songs that would be played for our ceremony to make sure they sounded beautiful. When Mr. Harr started playing the wedding processional song, I got chills because it sounded so hauntingly lovely. I would recommend Mr. Harr to anyone needing a professional and talented musician for their event. -Christine Carter

WeddingReviewed on August 25, 2012From Troutdale, OR

John Harr played our wedding on August 23, 2012 and did a fantastic job. He was easy to contact by phone/email in months, weeks, days, and final hours before the event. He learned and then performed a special song for us: "Love and some versus" by Iron & Wine, and he did it very well. Multiple people commented on how excellent and skillful a guitarist he was. Professional, gracious, and the right blend of formal and casual; I would recommend John highly as a musician for any event.

John was wonderful. We had organized a cocktail party and hired John to add some lovely music and atmosphere to the event, and he did just that. He has an extensive repertoire and was able to work up a variety of music to a requested genre. The music was perfect and added so much to the event. I would definitely recommend him.

EventReviewed on May 2, 2012From Portland, OR

I hired John to be a guitarist for a proposal that I was planning and he was completely professional and great. He was willing to travel to the location (Multnomah Falls) and be part of the overall plan (which was a surprise proposal). He understood the circumstances and knew that he had to be there rain or shine and he was totally cool with it. He did an excellent job the day of and I would definitely hire him again.

Birthday Party (Adult)Reviewed on October 4, 2011From Portland, OR

John was a delight to work with. He responded in a timely manner and followed through on everything we asked and he promised. He arrived well before the party, was completely set up and began on time. His music raised the level of the party by several notches. Many of the guests commented that his music was wonderful and added so much to the ambiance of the evening. We had a steady rain, and even though we held the party outside under a large canopy John was a trooper, never missing a beat. I would highly recommend him to anyone wanting a lovely party. Wedding CeremonyReviewed on September 17, 2011From Portland, OR

Working with John was great. He played at our wedding and he took the time to learn a song that we requested specifically for the bridal processional. He was always very responsive to emails and was enjoyable and easy to work with. If you are looking for a low-key, highly talented acoustic guitarist for your next event, I recommend John without hesitation.

John consulted with the bride, provide a song list for the vicar and did just the right music for the outdoor ceremony and luncheon following. The atmosphere created was wonderful.
